All of us are well aware of the prevailing situation throughout world due to Coronavirus (COVID19), especially in India and particular in Tamilnadu.
Due to curfew imposed for 21 days from 25th March 2020, many people are without even one time food –
a) Blind people selling Burfi, toys, handkerchief etc., in suburban trains
b) small road side (street) vendors – flower, fruit etc., etc.,
c) petty shop people – tea, saloon etc., etc.,
I received call from blind people selling few items in local trains, that they are without food for the past two days due to complete stoppage of all modes of transport.
I felt it is my duty to provide atleast one time meal to 100 people, who lost their livelihood due to COVID19 till the lockout announced by our Prime Minister is over i.e.upto Tamil New Year Day, 14th April 2020.
Since Government has imposed restriction for supply of food, we arranged food items costing Rs.500/- per packet (rice, dhall, oil, tamarind, chillies etc.) and handed over to 20 Blind vendors, daily at their place with police help.
AS A FIRST STEP, OUR TRUST HAS EARMARKED Rs.50,000/- (RUPEES FIFTY THOUSAND ONLY) FOR THIS PURPOSE.
Dear wellwishers, I received request from hungry people for supply of one time COOKED FOOD.
I request you to kindly go through the attachments _
1) Cooked food parcel with our volunteers
2) Food offered to GOD with prayers
3) Neatly arranging the food packets area wise by volunteers
4) POLICE OFFICIALS with their JEEP accompany our volunteers and supply to the hungry people
Food Supplied – at present – Singaperumalkoil and neighbourhood
STILL 17 MORE DAYS ARE THERE FOR RELAXING CURFEW / COMPLETE LOCKDOWN – a very very long period.
We, BY GRACED BY GOD, with all facilities, should not remain silent spectators, when poor people are HUNGRY.
